Kodi to Plex

Hey,
Currently have a Kodi HTPC, a AMD FM2+ CPU with 4GB ram and SSD connected to my home server. I’d like to try Plex as a replacement for the Kodi box, but on the download page, I continually find OS types, which is pointless as I’m agnostic to the OS type, and just need a standalone Plex Server build. Is this available, if so, could somebody kindly link me please.

There’s no bundled server images with OS+Plex.
In order to install Plex you’ll need an actual / virtual OS prepared (e.g. Ubuntu 18.04 or some other Linux, Windows, macOS…).

I’d recommend Linux over windows if you are familiar with Linux.

I have had better luck as windows in my experience is less stable but should work the same on both.

try a Plex Docker image

If anything goes wrong you can just bin the container and start again.
