Hi Devs and Users!
I would like to know if you can make it easier to add music to the playlist from the folder view. In the scenario where you would like to explore unknown music, usually contained under a specific folder in multiple subfolders, it is very difficult to just add the entire tree structure to the current playlist. I’ve tried many times to do this but it seems like you can only add a folder if there is actually music in the current folder, ignoring subfolders.
The icons of the folders are also dull and uninformative, and would be nice to just add a icon image containing a random collage of album art within, similar like Google Play Music Playlists and Radio Stations and other well known players.
Because of this limitation I find myself using foobar2000 (free and butt ugly) more for music than my Plex library, which is a shame for a Plex Pass Lifetime subscriber. The rest of Plex’s features are so nice and rich, to me the Music section is clearly lagging behind in even the simple navigational features.
I honestly do not care about Mood Mix, Lyrics, Artist bios and all the other awesome stuff, if I can’t navigate and manage the thousands of files in the library in the first place. I am not saying the Music implementation is bad, its very good, but please get the basics working with ease. Music collections are most of the time 10 times larger than Movie collections. And if you are an audiophile, you have a large music collection, especially high resolution files, that you just can’t stream reliably to your expensive equipment.
I would like to ask the community to help get this feature. I’ve voted on other users’ request for the same feature enhancement. Yet this has been neglected for many years and releases gone by. Please comment, advise, refer, whatever helps to get focus on this.
