Last 4 updates from Plex have failed

so after reneabling the auto update, it installed updates overnight and now when I launch the ‘Open Plex…’ link i get a 404 error. All services appear to be running on the machine. When I launched my Plex app on a pc it appeared to be configuring the server.

The apps are all running as services under an account specific for Plex on my server. Everything is installed under default settings.

If Plex server is running as service, you’ll never be able to use the integrated update routine. Manual install.

So when did this change occur? I have had Plex installed this way since the option to run it as a service was added. It has only just started failing this year. So something changed. Also I know lots of applications that run as services that allow for automated updates just like this app. Also the apps are running and are the correct version installed. The logs indicate that it installs correctly but it does not as the website returns a 404 error and the server is not available to any of the clients I have around my house that access it.

It was always that way.

It was never added (officially).

Maybe you have been using this 3rd-party software add-on: PMS as a service
I haven’t followed its development recently, so it might have lost the ability to perform updates.
Or maybe you need to update the add-on itself to restore that ability.
