I love Plexamp, but it seems as if, a few months ago, my account’s connection with last.fm broke for unclear reasons. I have tried multiple times to reconnect my last.fm over the past few months, even deleting and reinstalling the app, but all has failed. Is anyone else having this issue, and is anyone aware of a method to fix it?
The Last.fm scrobbling isn’t done by the Plexamp app itself. It’s sent by the server as far as I know, as it works with third-party apps, too. Have you tried a full reboot of your Plex server yet?
I do not have a server of my own. I scrobble off of my friend’s server, and the odd part is that I’m pretty sure scrobbling still works for him.
Hello, it’s been around a month and the problem is not resolved. Does anyone know any other possible solutions?
Edit – scratch what I just said. The link is probably part of your online Plex account instead. Have you redone the pairing between your Plex account and your Last.fm account yet?
I have done that various times over the past few months ever since it stopped working. I thought I already stated this, but it seems I didn’t, my apologies.
I did just retry, and still received no positive results.
You have this topic tagged as Plexamp. Have you tried playing music with the web player and seeing if those plays are registering on your Last.fm account? That would narrow down if the issue is Plexamp communicating with your friend’s server or the server sending the scrobbles to Last fm.
I’ll try this when my friend turns his server back on 
You might have been hit by this bug. It seems to only affect “guest” users on a server.
If that’s the case the bad news is that the bug has never been solved, because there’s no known cause. Elan wasn’t able to find any reason for this bug.

That thread would be referencing the old Plexamp. The current beta is a much different app and may not have the same problem. If you can confirm the problem on the new beta 4.50 Plexamp you’d want to pick up the issue there with the dev.
So, I did try this, but nothing scrabbled. My friend who owns the server does use an external scrobbling app (which I do not since no phone apps seem to support Plexamp), but my app is up to date and I have repeatedly try to refresh my account link.
Then it doesn’t sound like the fact scrobbling still works for him means much. He has something else serving that function instead of the Plex server.
If playing through the web app didn’t send any scrobbles to Plex then the issue is not Plexamp. There may be something impeding the communication for the server to send those scrobbles.
Plexamp is free, and does not require a Remote Watch Pass for remote listening. Have you considered setting up your own Plex server for music?
I do not believe I can set up my own library at this time. I’d have to learn a lot and I may need to pay for it, but I forget.
Also, it seems scrobbling from other servers still works, but just not this particular one?
Oh okay, if you already have other servers to test against then that solves that question. So there’s something about his particular setup that is not working right with regards to talking to last.fm.
How is that server set up? What operating system? Is it on docker by any chance?
I will ask my friend once he wakes up
Also, it seems I currently cannot create my own server, as I have no PC of my own…
