I’ve just rolled back as streaming from satellite box keeps failing due to transcoder crashing after a few seconds.

I mean it’s faster and most things work but I seem to have baked it down to dovi but these dovi versions worked in prior release but it seems to be ultra specific
I use mobius, be curious if that’s the issue
I have also had to roll back from 10162 due to transcoder failures on my Roku boxes (2 different Ultras). Same videos play fine on Windows PC in a browser, but crash every time on Roku. Plex server logs attached. 10156 works fine. Plex app version on Roku appears to be 8.6.5.10604.ea6a6ca15-Plex (from Plex app “settings” page).

@techieanalyst What CPU are you using? Based on the logs the CPU is not being identified properly. Do you also have a GPU installed? Looking through the logs from 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c also having additional errors. For the files that you were having issue with on this Beta could you restart PMS with the last known good release and playback those same problematic videos then capture your PMS logs again?
@Steve_Antonoff Similar question for you, do you have a GPU installed? I see similar issues loading the cuda drivers in the previous install version 1.42.2.10156-f737b826c.

I’m using a Windows 11 machine for PMS with Apple TVs as clients. Wow, this latest PMS release screwed the pooch! Many of my recently watched shows refuse to load now. Where are the files located to allow us to roll back to a STABLE release?

the prior release didn’t have issues, once in a blue moon I had transcoded errors but not frequently and I’ve gotten this down to very few few movies having issues now
this was a moved server from windows to Ubuntu
But as is aid they didn’t have issues before
If you’re on the latest beta a new transcoder was introduced I believe.
I know but it’s seems that I’ve found it’s ultra specific movies (transcoding starte fast), the only movie I now haven’t working with transcoding is killer clowns from outer space
I thought it was Dovi movies but 150gb blue ray dovi started instantly original and 2 seconds transcoding. I recall I had a weird issue after upgrades a movie recently played wouldn’t work but days later would

Sorry, I forgot to ask. What is actually happening? Are you seeing an error message on screen? Does playback just stop?
Transcoded just fails on some things, 99.9% work but all that don’t work on beta work fine on prior release I ran

the command should capture it should be something like:

@techieanalyst any chance you could provide a sample from one of the movies which did not work?
So this has been a hella of any update, right at the start of a weekend. I’ve run into the same problem everyone here has mentioned. However interestingly enough, all of the files that are not playing in the Plex [tvOS] app. They do play on the Plex Preview [tvOS].
I hope that this helps shed some light on the issue. But it does bring up a bigger question, when is this release going to be pushed outside of Preview?
