Two days ago I opened up the iPad (I use Plex on it every day so I assume it was an update) and the layout has changed to where you lose an entire half of the screen for no reason. Before it used to show the banner up the top and the Season & Episode tiles were pretty large & took up all the screen real estate; now they’re tiny, barely readable (in comparison to before) and tucked away. I’ve checked everywhere and can’t see anywhere to change the setting to go back to where it was before - maybe I’m just being dumb and it’s not just a terrible UI update?
You cannot change the UI.
Personally I like the new interface much better than the old one… but that doesn’t mean you have to agree.

I genuinely must be missing something then because imo they’ve removed half the screen for zero purpose, you have to scroll horizontally to find seasons that were all viewable without scrolling before, and the episode list is smaller and harder to read / find because you’ve lost half the screen

Oh this is brilliant, one quarter of the screen is empty and another has nothing to do with the show. Just genius, I wonder who thought of that. I’d like to take some lessons please! /s
I already complained about the sideways scrolling issue regarding music album on artist pages, but this takes the cake, one can just hope they’ll correct this general oversight in usability.

It should nearly be reported as a bug because surely nobody would actually design a UI like this in 2020. It was great before - and this is a giant leap backwards. If I’ve literally clicked on a show to watch, why would I need 1/4-1/3 of the screen to permanently be a banner of that show, 1/4 to be about related shows and shows that were on the same channel, 1/4 just… blank, and only 1/4 to actually be about what I’m probably there for? Just keep it the same as the laptop / desktop version (like it was before) - split-screening it is terrible
I can only agree!! It’s awful. And the WORST thing is that now it doesn’t show when you’re in the middle of an episode. It either has the unplayed orange triangle or it doesn’t. I more than once started a new episode now, before finishing the previous one because I forgot that I hadn’t ended it…

Ughhhh I hadn’t even seen that until tonight when I just thought “Wait did I finish the ep before this, I don’t remember that?” - and yup, now you have to click on an episode to see if you’re partway through it. Hopefully this is a New Coke attempt and they’ll hit us with the Old Coke in the next update
The best is “tracks from this show” taking up half the screen like more than 1% would even care about it. I want to see the fan art etc. Add me to this list of people who dislike it

Omg I TOTALLY agree, this new layout SUCKS.
I spent hours trying to revert it because I figured I must have done something to make it that bad.
It is so horrible. I do not want to see all that crap in my detail screens. Honestly, PLEASE let us revert to the old layout is we choose. Just let us turn off all the extraneous info if we don’t want it.
Guess what, I don’t want Plex to suggest “related” movies. I know my library.

On top of the above, it does seem that essentials such as IMDb ratings have dissapeared in the new layout…
I may be misremembering but I am sure I used to be able to swipe to the next episode from the episode screen, doesn’t seem to work now.
I like some aspects of the new design but when you open an episode the right side of the screen is wasted if there is no cast info.
Also cast info, other shows, that’s the kind of stuff I can understand on netflix but this is my media collection, I know what is in it. I appreciate the info being available but maybe not filling the right side of my screen each time.
Although most will be forgiven if this update fixes the crash to home screen that I have been putting up with for the past few years.
