Can’t you install from the WD store? That’s not the latest, but should be newer than 1.10. Of did they also update to 1.14.1?
We’ve only known about this issue when it was reported here 15 days ago.

Actually, this issue WAS reported on 12/18/18, the day the update was made available, in a separate post, by others and myself…
Cannot update to version 1.14.1.5488. on EX2100 unable to revert back to previous version
It was also reported in another post on 12/30/18…
WD plex media server - latest update
However, neither of those two posts were addressed by anyone from Plex.
As I said, we were not aware of the issue until I saw this thread. The next version of PMS should fix the issue, but I don’t have an ETA.
Another thing I see is you have refresh rate switching enabled. I found that causes problems sometimes. Can you try turning that off and see if the video still fails?
[edit] Sorry, wrong thread.
My friend who is having the problem had WD Support remote into his EX2100 and they worked on it for a good part of a day with no resolution. They told him to contact Plex Support which hasn’t gotten him anywhere either.
Do you guys really think that people are that stupid where they haven’t tried all the things you have suggested before coming in here and reporting a problem. I guess it is par for the course when it comes to giving support these days, when you have no other real answer to a problem, “Blame the Customer”.
I’m having the same issue, but I’m confused as to what refresh rate switching has to do with updating.
@Triton650 Sorry. I was replying to another thread and it somehow ended up in here. That comment has nothing to do with this issue. The next release of PMS should install correctly.
Latest version available from WD directly is 1.7. So we’ve essentially been blocked from streaming on apps this entire time.
so I am guessing that this hasnt been resolved yet. I am brand new to the Plex community and I had been using Kodi before. I was ready to kick Kodi to the curb until I bought a Roku for my TV down stairs and BOOM! I cant use Plex because I cant update it to the current version. So now I am out my membership fee to Plex and the cost of my Roku… sure I can use WD and Roku for other items but thats not what I have them for. I am very frustrated at this time. I am currently on the side of Plex needing to update this issue with 1.14 or at least giving us a fix for this issue at this time until they can resolve the issue with the latest bin file.
We released 1.15.0 to beta. You can get that from the downloads page or from Much faster (hopefully), smaller (mostly) and better PMS builds preview (1.15.0.573-123756e9a).
Hey,
I tried on WD ex2100 and I could install it .
it means the installing issue we had on 1.14 has been solved.
When would be the official release date ?
Thanks
I don’t have a date for an official release yet. The team needs to deem the release stable before that happens.
Hey all,
I downloaded the latest build and it works perfect… Roku is seeing my Plex server and all my Samsung TV’s are able to access it also.
Thank you for such a quick response, MovieFan.
My WD EX2100 is showing an update is available after installing the new beta, I’m assuming this is because it is beta so for some reason the WD wants to install some old legacy version - from 2017, which doesn’t work at all. I found that out after following the update link (on right of WD app store - see pic) so reinstalled the beta again after.
I assume the arrow in circle on left is just to say there is an update.
I’m not sure, but I didn’t think we release beta’s to WD. Beta’s are only available to Plex Pass users and their store wouldn’t know if you have a PP or not.
