Just tried to do an update on my Qnap TS251+ and it says the package cannot be installed ,see system log. There is no reference in the system log to a failed install. I have updated the Plex server previously without any problems. This is the 64bit version.
Any ideas
Matt
Matt,
Did you get an incomplete download perhaps? It’s been known to happen with some browsers or systems with anti-virus (Windows )
It’s about 110Mb. Is that about right ?
Sounds right but if the closing signature is missing, QTS will refuse to validate and load it
I’ve downloaded it twice now with the same result.
Confirming, you downloaded the 64 bit Intel version from Plex.tv/downloads ?
Sure did. I’m pretty sure the .pkg file is all there and correct. I’m a bit mistified as previous updates just happened
.pkg or .qpkg Just being sure we’re talking the right NAS
Same issue happening here, but on a TVS-463…tried downloading multiple times on multiple computers, same exact process as described above.
Matt,
My mistake. TS-251 is a 32 bit system
You might want to verify which binary, 32 / 64 bit from the NAS guide.
Sorry, but i totally forgot to confirm first. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201373803-nas-compatibility-list/
Aah. That’s interesting. The 64bit file was downloaded automatically when I clicked on ‘download’ so I presumed it knew which to download. I’ll check later.
Thanks for your help
Matt
Make sure you get the right one for your model is all I’m saying otherwise we get the square peg in round hole problem
