Latest plex updates changed file display format

Server Version#: Version 1.23.4.4805
Player Version#: Version 4.57.4
The server is running on Linux Ubuntu and accessed through chrome on a windows machine.

I have a large file data base divided into folders. The files in the folders under previous plex versions would display the title/movie poster only: these would display several titles horizontally on each line. Once selected the clicked on title would display the additional movie metadata information. The current version displays all movie titles/posters with the metadata by default, which causes the titles to be displayed vertically. I’ve look for a setting to change it back to the previous preferred view of title/poster only and can not find such.

Thank you
Charles

I’m not sure I’m picturing this correctly… do you have a screenshot? Have you tried it in app.plex.tv?

There is a new “Modern TV Layout” in experimental testing but I don’t think it applies to the web view:

Folder view can only be used as a list. This may change in the future, but for now, there isn’t a way to change this.

This a picture of the formatting of files and folder views as changed. The onscreen layout was much more user friendly before the recent change in formatting. Having a large data base with close to 10k in files/folders it is much less desirable to have to scroll through all of the files with all the metadata displayed. I’ve been a user of plex since 2012 and not sure why the screen display layout has changed now. Would like to see a way to toggle it back to previous screen layout.

Thanks
Charles
