Latest updates create "Error code: h4 (not supported)" casting files w/ 7.1 audio

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7349
Player Version#: 8.22 (iOS) - primary player / 4.108.0 (Plex Web)

Debug log attached.

MacOS Version: 10.13.6 (computer is server); Chromecast 2nd generation; Marantz SR6009 (all have latest software/firmware updates)

There are three files (all HEVC) represented in the log. The first two files should demonstrate the post-update issue when AAC 7.1 audio is selected, as well as no issues when using the stereo commentary tracks. The third file should demonstrate no issues with HEVC 5.1 playback. The two files triggering the error code played with no issues prior to the latest updates.

Troubleshooting so far: cleared cache; restarted server device; rebooted router; Chromecast rereboot; VPN disabled.

I use a mid-2011 iMac as the server. Playback of the files in question on the server computer using the Plex Web player (with the 7.1 audio tracks selected) works fine.

So - the issue occurs specifically when I am trying to cast files with 7.1 audio to my TV using Chromecast with either the iOS or Plex Web player app. Seems like a server update issue, but I am, very clearly, not an expert. At any rate, hope this narrows it down.

Also, FWIW - I went to the Plex Web player page to run through the Advanced Settings described in the audio configuration support article . My page didn’t offer the same number of drop-downs, only Normalize and Force Multi-Channel, none of the audio channel or passthrough options. I’m assuming this is because the page is referencing Plex for Mac, not the web player.

Thanks for your help.

That audio config is only for the desktop app. It does not affect Chromecast or the web player.

Have you tried from app.plex.tv ?

Yep, no dice. Like the web player, it will play the file using 7.1 on the computer but the moment I attempt to cast I get the error code.

Casting a file using the 7.1 audio from any source triggers the error. Casting the same files using 5.1 audio or lower, no issue. And as I mentioned, no issue playing on the computer itself.

Thanks for looking into this, BW.
