I followed the Repair a Corrupted Database instructions.

My current com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file size is 13,977MB.

I uninstalled the working 1.24.4 version.

I installed the 1.25.6 version.

I let it update libraries and then launched several titles directly on the plex server. Thet all gave the same error:

I stopped the Plex server and services and uninstalled 1.25.6.

I reinstalled 1.24.4.

I again let the libraries update and launched. Tested the same title and they worked.

I’m totally stumped… :frowning:

Repair isn’t always successful. :frowning: Repair produces a valid database file, but doesn’t guarantee that the data inside it is complete and coherent.

Do you have an older backup?

Sorry no I only have the most recent backups for the 1.24.4 version.

At this point I am tempted to just reinstall the newest version and just rebuild the database from scratch. Is there a way to do this but maintain the metadata so I don’t have to wait forever to have it all downloaded again? My current setup includes:

Disney Movies: 158 titles
Audiobooks: 5 authors 60 titles
Home Movies: 12 titles
Movies: 561 titles (most 720p)
Music: 44973 tracks (all 320kb or less)
TV Shows: 4049 episodes (most 480p)
Child Movies: 17 titles
Child Music: 134 tracks
Child TV Shows: 716 episodes
Archived Movies (Library of 1 byte files that act as placeholders for archived (offline) files): 3616 titles
Archived TV Shows (Library of 1 byte files that act as placeholders for archived (offline) files): 28472 episodes

Hopefully it may reduce the size of the database (currently ~13.9GB).

Any step-by-step instruction anywhere that will guide me though this?

I have the Plex Server installation on the default C:\ drive and the data files all on RAIDed D:\ and E:\ drives (Only 2TB each). All the Archived files are offline and are just represented by 1 byte files that act as placeholders. These all have the same exact name as the actual video files, but are basically text files with an “X” in the body of the text.

Thanks!

Can I just do a clean install of the newest version and just rebuild the database from scratch? Is there a way to do this but maintain the metadata so I don’t have to downloaded it all again?

If you rebuild the database from scratch, you’ll lose the current metadata. That’s most of the content stored int he database.

Yep, that’s what I thought but was hoping against…

Ah, well, thanks friend. I will rename the original Plex Server folder so I still have it available to reference if I need to, then download the latest and greatest and install fresh. I’ll hope it also shrinks my db size but it will take several days to add everything back (see my current setup above) and I’ll do them piecemeal to be able to verify the scraping.

I’ll consider this issue closed. Thanks again to all who helped!
