The Plex app just updated on my Nvidia shield, and now when I click the icon to open it; instead of launching the app, it opens the play store we’re I then have to click open.
This has happened to me a few times too. I have found no definitive fix for it – it will just stop doing it eventually. Even a reboot may or may not make a difference.
When this happened to me I uninstalled the app, rebooted my shield and installed again. That solved it.
Clearing app cache and data might also work if you really won’t want to uninstall/reinstall.

I already tried clearing app cache and data before posting this and that didn’t work.
rebooting it fixed the issue; no uninstall/reinstall needed.
