Please 'splain me how they could release a product like this??? No categories, like Artists, Albums, Folders, Tracks. You can only play from created Playlists. It doesn’t remember where you were, so EVERY time you start it you have to start from scratch. Seriously, I have NEVER seen anything like it, and I’ve seen a lot. How, exactly, do you release something this unfinished to the public with a straight face???
6 months ago I would have agreed with you … now with that great project called Plexamp the use in the car is at (almost) reference levels.
There remains a year of discussions where the devs have also come to deny the evidence in order not to reveal future evolutions

The Plex App with Android Car is terrible.
But the new Plexamp is ok. Its still beta, I guess, but its a lot better than the Plex App.
What’s the Plexamp?
Edit: I see the app, but you have to have a Plex Pass to use it??? I already paid them for the Plex app on my phone

lol, I started a trial. Please. No shuffle??? hahahahahahahaha. Gimme a break. All the cheerleaders on here must be paid shills for the company or the devs. Yea, I’m gonna pay to go back to 1989.
Edit, I see you can shuffle playlists only. Going to try in Android Auto in a moment and let’s see if it resumes where I leave off in between drives
you are correct, there is currently no shuffle or repeat in the player, but you can shuffle or create a radio from most library context menus, and the ‘radios’ and ‘mixbuilder’ are where the best ‘shuffle’ comes from.
try mix builder > add 3 of your favorite artists > 3 dot menu > play radio
mixbuilder mix = only selected artists
mixbuilder radio = selected artists + related artists
So, here’s my first experience.
Bad:
Playlists are useless, unless you enjoy watching a spinning wheel. NONE of my playlist loaded. Worthless
The entire app froze once already in Android Auto. Had to force close it and start over
In AA no category choices, Artist, Album, Folder, etc.
No Shuffle in anything but Playlists, which, of course, don’t work
Good:
I guess you can use Radio Stations in place of playlists, sort of, to some extent
Like I said, let me know when it’s done, I won’t be paying for this

I’m discovering that any time I try and open a playlist, I get 100% CPU usage from the Plex Server on my Synology. What a joke. This thing should be called a Kappa, it’s not even good enough for a Beta
