LG app: Buffering with large files on Direct Play

Server Version: 1.19.2.2737 (on a Raspberry Pi 4 w/ 4GB RAM)
Player Version: Plex for LG 4.29.4 (webOS 3.8.0)

Setting:

  1. RPi4 Plex server == ethernet cable == router == ethernet cable == LG TV.
  2. RPi4 Plex server == ethernet cable == router == WiFi == MacBook (web app)

Hi,

I’m experiencing buffering issues with a few videos played with Direct Stream to my LG tv. The same video file played without issues with the web app on my MacBook via WiFi. The problem seems to be on the LG app side: if I play the same video on the web app and on the LG app at the same time I get no problem from the web but repeated buffering on the LG.

Not every video file causes the buffering issue but I noticed that they tend to happen with large files. I also saw on the forum that other users of LG apps tended to experience this problem also, but I really couldn’t find a solution.

Where do I start to try to solve this?
