LG NetCast version broken with 1.19.1.2645

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2645
Player Version#: 3.13.29 (NetCast / LG)

After the server was upgraded from previous version, this player stopped working and was stuck on initial splash screen.

Tried to clear the Authorised device to force new auth token. It authenticates and the TV shows up again in Authorised Devices (serverside) but still stuck on the PLEX splash screen.

I just reverted back to server version 1.18.9.2571 and my LG NetCast TV in question now works. So pretty convinced the latest build (labelled above) breaks it.

Unfortunately, the Plex app for Netcast devices is no longer supported so it is unlikely that this will be fixed. You might need to stick to the older version of PMS if you want to keep using that client.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware it was no longer supported but given it’s age, I’m not surprised. Will stick to 1.18 until that TV is retired.

Can you direct me to where this is listed? I went to the Plex online help and according to the Plex website some netcast is supported, see link below

Here you go, https://support.plex.tv/articles/204080173-which-smart-tv-models-are-supported/.

Have you tried turning off the ‘Disable Weak TLS’ preference?

Hi @StSimm1,

Few Q’s:
1- Who was the question too?
2- Where is the option, Server side or NetCast TV client as I cannot find it on either?
3- Disabling weak TLS almost sounds like turning off v1.0 of the protocol and forcing the secure/supported version. So wouldn’t that almost certainly kill any chance of the TV app working since its no longer supported with updates?
