LG plex app - audio transcode + subtitle causes video transcode

Hi, it is a bug or i can’t configure correctly something?
Audio need to transcode and I want to set subtitle (.srt) and the PMS start video transcode too. Without subtitle PMS dont start video transcode. Why?
Subtitle burning set only image formats and PMS will transcode the video with “original” or with external subtitle too.

Deault on server the video transcode set off, because my server is too weak the video transcode.

Neither. It is how the app works.

With the Plex WebOS app:

  • Enabling image based subtitles (PGS/VOBSUB) forces a video transcode.
  • If the audio is transcoding, enabling any subtitle forces a video transcode.

If the audio is not transcoding:

  • SRT/VTT subtitles direct play.
  • ASS subtitles force a video transcode if Subtitles = Automatic in app settings.
  • ASS subtitles direct play if Subtitles = Only Image Formats in app settings, but formatting (position, color, etc) is lost.

It says in Android app update that it has been fixed:

  • Player: direct play subtitles even when transcoding audio or video…

Why isn’t the same fix applied to LG (webOS) app too?
