LG TV - photos show over the top of interface

For the past couple of months I have been unable to browse photos efficiently on my LG TV due to the photos overlapping the actual interface. I have attached pictures below of an ultra-wide photo that demonstrates the interface I am expecting to see (back, play, next, clock) and a 2:3 photo that totally covers it.

Whilst this is visually pretty annoying, it’s also a pain to actually show any photos on my TV as I don’t know if I have pressed ‘pause’ on the automatic slideshow, or then where my cursor is on the interface to advance to the next picture.

The error seems to have persisted through various server updates so I wonder if it is to do with the TV app. What further information do you require to fix this please?

I presume logs won’t be useful as this is a visual thing, but perhaps as nobody has replied to this it’s uncommon? Maybe it’s related to my version of webOS?
