Request a library level option to limit the number of genre tags.
Example “The Abyss” I would consider Science fiction but Plex pulls TMDB metadata as Science Fiction, Adventure, Action, Thiller, Action, Drama, Mystery.
Makes it nearly impossible to filter by genre.
I’m not entirely sure I understand the use case you’re looking for. In your given example, Plex will find „The Abyss“ by filtering for „Science Fiction“. You have the additional benefit of being able to distinguish that search by applying another genre filter (e.g., filtering for „Science Fiction“ and „Adventure“ or filtering for „Science Fiction“ and excluding „Romance“).
