Anime tags

I would like to know if its possible to get proper anime tagging for anime
Vampire, Thriller, Suspense, Supernatural, Super Power, Sports, Space, Slice of Life, Shounen, Shoujo, Seinen, Sci-Fi, School, Romance, Reverse Harem, Psychological, Parody, Mystery, Music, Military, Mecha, Martial Arts, Mahou Shoujo, Magic, Kids, Josei, Iyashikei, Isekai, Horror, Harem, Gore, Gourmet, Girls Love, Fantasy, Ecchi, Drama, Demons, Comedy, Boys Love, Avant Garde, Adventure, Action

and not the tags used by “thetvdb” that label everything anime and animation,

I’ve written code that uses anilist and MAL to pull tags and create collections, but the collections seems to be slow on some devices,

what would be great is being able to fag a library as “anime only” and by doing that it will use the proper tags for anime

You can edit the genre tags on any item. I’ve come across a few items tagged as “family” as a joke (I assume) and simply removed the tag by editing the item.

The tags you get are limited by the metadata providers that Plex uses, and at this point this is TMDB, theTVDB, and Gracenote. Nobody is adding dozens of shows to their libraries in one day so it is certainly doable to customize the tags on items yourself to suit your desires when you add them. I don’t think “Sci-Fi & Fantasy” should be lumped together, for example.

editing the tags locks them, so when a new season comes out, the tags doesn’t get updated,
I can unlock it but then the wrong tags gets added again,

I’m working on updating my code and thinking of running an API server in order to remove the uncultured tags done by theTVDB and doing it proper, but it would be great of proper anime support was part of plex
