Libraries and sublibraries!

I have around 25 different libraries, and if I browse to the 23rd of them, it takes quite long. Did Plex Media never had the idea of having sublibraries?

I have libraries for movies (Action, Crime Thriller…), for TV Series (Action, Crime Thriller…), for Asian movies (Action, Crime Thriller…), Anime (Action, Crime Thriller…) aso. I would like to have one main library called MOVIES, and under that some sublibraries with the aforementioned categories (Action, Crime Thriller…). That way it would be much cleaner and sorted.

Why is that not possible?

Plus, why can’t I add a nice picture to a library instead of having the default, generic, monotonous Plex Media Server folder picture?

This would be quite easy to add in the future.

Why is it necessary to have 25 libraries in the first place? I probably don’t have enough movies and my clients are all able to filter by genre, tag whatever so I don’t feel the need. And you could also create “Smart” playlists based on that filtering so you don’t have to do it again all the time. But you seem to be on a different track.

Well I have categories for everything: Movies\Action, Movies\Animation, Movies\Drama, Movies\Sci-Fi, Movies\Thriller…etc Plus I have the same in TV Series, Asian Movies and Anime, so that gives me quite many libraries, otherwise I would have to fit everything into one single library which would be quite confusing, having several hundreds of movies in one.

just filter by the genre that is probably already in the metadata for each film ( you can change any genre on any film as you please )
