I’m a newb and trying to stumble through.
I can’t seem to get Plex to find any of my content. I’m able to add Libraries and see the different directories on my computer, but Plex doesn’t see any of the content, even after I’ve successfully added the Library. I’ve taken mkv’s, mp4’s and wmv’s and put them on my hard drive, an external hard drive and a thumb drive, with no luck in any them.
I’m sure there’s something simple I’m missing, but I’m at a loss. Any help would be great.
Plex server runs as user account plex on Linux.
Make sure this user has at least ‘read’ permissions to your media files.
Thanks for the assist. I can’t seem to find Plex as a User, I only find myself. I went to the directories and set the permissions to “Create and delete files” for everyone, but that didn’t seem to help.
Maybe I didn’t install it correctly? I assumed I did, since the I get the console and can go through the process of adding Libraries, but…newbness.
I’m running Ubuntu 16.04, but I’m new to it, as well.
I can’t offer you further help on Linux issues. No Linux guy here.
