Libraries don't remeber the selected tab

The new iOS app no longer offers the option for libraries to remember the selected tab. I prefer having the Browse tab selected instead of the Recommended tab.

So going into my movie library went from (in the old app):

  1. Swipe right to show pinned libraries
  2. Tap on movie library

to (in the new app):

  1. Tap library at the bottom bar
  2. Tap upper-left corner to show favorite libraries
  3. Tap on the movie library
  4. Tap on the Browse tab

Yeah, that seems much easier now /s.

This makes it slightly less horrible. Unfortunately, most people will never know because the app doesn’t tell you, and you have to dig through a forum post to figure that out.

I have the same issue. I go to libraries and then only see “Movies”, I have Music and cannot see it when I click the dropdown menu at top.

The mobile app now has a setting for “Default Library View”

But this is not a real solution, has only 2 options: ‘Browse’ or ‘Recommended’, not really useful.
In one of my libraries I want ‘Collections’ the starting page. The old app with ‘Remember last selected’ did work perfectly.
The new app with its “new experience” is a huge step back. Missing or broke things that was working right in old app for years.
