Version 1.14.1.5488, does not update libraries since recent changes.
It seems to start the scan process, then immediately aborts it.
Please help
My solution on windows was to delete effected library an add it again.
Then the scanner picked up new files.
I too am running PMS Version 1.14.1.5488 and having no luck with updating libraries anymore.
I have a VERY simple setup …
… that’s it!
It all of a sudden is no longer finding ANY new media anywhere. I am trying to rip new episodes of MASH into the TV Shows folder but PMS is not picking them up. My folder structure looks like:
z:\media\TV Shows\MASH\Season01\Mash-s1e01.m4v
where Season01 has Season 02, 03, etc as separate folders. Everything was good until I added a folder for Season10 and its associated episodes. No luck it will not pick up the media no matter what I do.
Here are my debugging steps:
Create different “season” folder under original location aamed “Season-10” --> No luck
Create different “TV Shows” folder named “TVShows” and move the new “Season-10” folder with one episode in it to that folder. Create a new TV Shows library and point it at the “TVShows” top level folder --> No Luck
Move “Season-10” folder to local hard drive (C:) under folder structure of:
C:\Users\bill\Desktop\TVSHOWS\MASH Episodes\Season-10\ —> No Luck
Here is the log file from the first scan of that folder. I’m not a 100% on how to read the output here but it sure looks like it found something in the folder and scanned it but it is just not showing up in the interface.

I have optimized database and cleaned bundles all to no avail.
Can someone help please?
Thanks,
Bill
Oh I should mention I have deleted and added the “TV Shows” library multiple times also to no avail.
thanks,
Bill
Mystery solved for anyone interested.
So I moved my entire PMS server from a windows server to an Unbuntu 18.04 sever with an NFS mount and rebuilt the entire library database from scratch and still had the problem of not picking up the new library items.
What it turned out to be is an inability to recognize the new season episodes with the naming convention I had been using for the previous nine seasons.
Seasons naming convention:
MASH_Ssee.mp4
So MASH Season 9 episode 13 would be: MASH_S913
this worked great and was and is picked up by PMS.
However MASH Season 10 episode 5 would be: MASH_S1005
this is NOT picked up by PMS.
I changed file names to MASH_S10e05… voila! Tre Magnifque!
Probably some quirk in regular expression mapping coded into the PMS but really quirky to have to be so specific in naming.
It is not a quirk, it is simply the way computer programs sort numbers; not just Plex but all programs. 1, 10, 100 all come before 2, 3 etc.
Your solution was the proper way to build a file name to eliminate the sorting problem. Plex alludes to it in the documentation, but does not elaborate on it.
Plex doesn’t “allude” to the proper naming format, they spell it out.
https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220687-naming-series-season-based-tv-shows/
To name series/episode based shows:
Where:
XX is the season numberYY is the episode number… Optional_Info is additional optional text (e.g. episode title) that is ignored by Plex, and ext is the file extension. (Some operating systems such as Windows may hide your file extensions by default.)
I stand corrected, indeed they do for the episodes in a season. I was thinking of how to name the seasons in the folder structure.
Is it Season 01 or Season 1. For what does it do when you reach Season 10, 11, etc.?
Again, it’s pretty clearly spelled out. You want to use XX (e…g 01, 02, …, 10, 11, etc).
