I have taken my TTC videos (Technical lectures) and ripped them. Each separate course contains 12-48 (say) lectures. I would like a way to collect them in libraries such as TTC-Science, TTC-History, etc. That way I could got to the TTC-Science library and see a course on Nuclear Physics as one “sub-library” with 12 lectures (separate files) and another on Quantum Mechanics as a second one. I tried putting two courses in a folder TTC-Science and using that as the media source. But all i get is the individual lectures with no gathering them together in the course where they belong.
The way I did this was to treat the shows as if they were TV episodes of a TV series called “Nuclear Physics”. For example I have a folder for all the music lectures. Each folder in there is the name of a lecture. “Concert Masterworks”, “Operas of Mozart” for example. In those folders I have each lecture named with S01E01 (etc) as the first part of the name. So “S01E01 - Mozart-Piano Concerto No. 25 in C Major, K. 503 (1786), Lecture 1”, “S01E02 - Mozart-Piano Concerto No. 25, Lecture 2”. You can use someting like bulkrenameutility.co.uk to assist in renaming everything. Then put that main MUSIC folder in a library called “TTC MUSIC” and treat it as a TV show. All the lectures will show up as individual TV series with the lectures as episodes for that show. Keep in mind that since these are NOT really tv shows, there won’t be any metadata brought in like art or descriptions or episode names. I took the extra trouble of downloading the cover art for each lecture and manually adding them to each one once it was in PLEX. I have a different library for each main TTC category, history, lit, art, music, better living, etc.
