I have taken my TTC videos (Technical lectures) and ripped them. Each separate course contains 12-48 (say) lectures. I would like a way to collect them in libraries such as TTC-Science, TTC-History, etc. That way I could got to the TTC-Science library and see a course on Nuclear Physics as one “sub-library” with 12 lectures (separate files) and another on Quantum Mechanics as a second one. I tried putting two courses in a folder TTC-Science and using that as the media source. But all i get is the individual lectures with no gathering them together in the course where they belong.
Sorry, looks like posted to wrong area
Moved for you to Public. Please advise if this wasn’t your wish.
As for how to group them, I find creating libraries of type ‘Other Videos’ to be the best.
I have the freedom to name them as I wish and structure them as I wish within each Library.
I might try setting them up as a TV series using the “Personal Media Shows” agent rather than the default TVDB. You would have to enter information manually for each episode (lecture) and posters would obviously be non-existent.
Example:
TTC Videos >>> Folder the new TV library points to
… \ TTC-Science >>> Folder for the Science Lectures
… \ … \ TTC-Science S01E01.mkv
… \ … \ TTC-Science S01E02.mkv, etc
… \ TTC-History >>> Folder for the History Lectures
… \ … \ TTC-History S01E01.mkv
… \ … \ TTC-History S01E02.mkv, etc
I have a small library of music videos I set up in this manner. It’s all manual maintenance to make it look “Plexy” but it seems to work. No guarantees on the results
Thanks for the feedback, ChuckPA and leelynds. I’ll try both and then flag the one that works best for me (or both if I like both).
