I logged out all my devices finally and now nobody has access. I’d have to grant access one friend at a time now?
Is there a way to multi-select friends to grant access to?
Signing our your devices/clients includes your server – however it doesn’t remove access to your libraries for friends. Did you reclaim your server after you changed your password (access your server locally, using its local IP address from within the same network/subnet; open Settings > [Server Name] > General and click the Sign In button on that settings page; alternatively you can use a script to reclaim your server).
If you had deleted the server’s preferences.xml, this results in your server losing its unique machine identifier. Therefore Plex considers your server/libraries to be different from before – assuming your friends have not been granted access to any of the “new” ones. In that case the answer to your question is: no, there’s no means to mass-grant access to multiple friends at the same time.

I used localhost:32400 from the local browser to claim it. All went as expected except the libraries weren’t shared anymore. I’ve manually given access to some now but I haven’t confirmed if they have their watch history, but I do on my account. I’ll confirm.
I didn’t delete the preferences file or anything and didn’t need the script. The host machine is Ubuntu. I don’t share the entire server, just some folders, could that be why?
It shouldn’t cause shares to be lost.
I guess I found a bug. Removing and claiming a server is probably not frequently done so it makes sense it would fly under the radar. Just to detail it, this is the series of actions I followed.
- changed password immediately but didn’t log out devices yet.
- When I had time I went through and removed each device from the “Authorized Devices” page.
- After removing the server from the " Authorized Devices" page, I claimed the server from localhost browser.
- All user shares are vapor, no trace other than I still have friends with no shares.
- Share libraries click by click to each user. No batch edit methods or multi-select.
Are you sure this is expected behavior? I just used a test server to share a library. Logged it out then claimed it and the share is gone.
That’s the expected behavior and how it worked for all users with whom I’ve been working (except the ones who rushed to delete their preferences.xml file for good).
What version of Plex Media Server do you have installed and on what platform?

Did any of these users have individual libraries shared instead of the entire server? It only took me a second to repeat this.
Share individual library > log server out > claim server > library share gone
Watch history stays intact.
