Android app won't display large pictures

I have a library of pictures on my media server. They all work find on the Plex app on Roku. However, on the Plex app on Android, large photos (say, 3000x6000) won’t display. It just shows the generic photo icon. I thought maybe it just took a while to transfer over the wifi, but I waited quite and while and…nothing. Smaller pictures work fine.

Is there some hard limit in the Android app on photo file sizes? Any workaround? Any help appreciated.

My media server is running on Windows 10.

Server Version#: 1.27.0.5897-3940636f2
Player Version#: 9.3.0.32977

By default, Plex won’t display photos over 100 Mib (Mebibytes - I had to look that up when I learned about this limit). This is a server-side limit, rather than the app.

There is an override, to be used with caution, since the limit is there for performance reasons. See this page, and look for the TranscoderPhotoFileSizeLimitMiB advanced setting:

These photos are jpgs less than 2 Mib.
Also, they work fine when I use the Roku Plex app as a client.

As far as I know there’s nothing else that should prevent the Android app from showing them, then.
