FYI, if the NAS still works OK for storage, one option is to keep the media on the NAS and move Plex Media Server to another system, such as a mini-PC running Linux or Windows.
Edit: Just remembered a previous exchange. You were considering a Terramaster if I remember correctly. That would definitely be an upgrade over the Netgear.
