Library not visible

Hello everyone,

Tonight I opened the Plex player on my Android TV and there was an update.

Since then I can’t see any of my libraries … I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall the TV App and it doesn’t change anything.

When I go in the “Plus” menu option it tells me that I’ve 5 favorites libraries and that I can reorganise my favorites. But there’s nowhere in the app where I can browse my libraries …

Can anyone help me please ? Thanks a lot !

Server Version#: 1.18.5
Player Version#: 2026.19.1

NAS model?
DSM version?

Please verify you are running Plex Media Server v1.18.5.

If so, you should update to the current public version, 1.43.4.10903.

The New Experience apps, such as 2026.19.1, need PMS 1.41.2 or higher (reference).

The Synology Package Center has been updated with the current public PMS release. It should offer to update your server.

If it does not, then you can download the update from plex.tv/downloads and perform a manual installation.

Please do the following:

1. Synchronize the NAS with a public NTP server.
Synology Control Panel → Regional Options → Time Tab → Time Setting
Choose Synchronize with NTP Server
Pick a server from the drop down list (pool.ntp.org, time.google.com, etc.) and click Update Now.
You should see status = Normal

2. Configure the NAS to use a public DNS server
Synology Control Panel → Network → General tab
Check the box to Manually Configure DNS Server
Enter a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), or 9.9.9.9 (Quad9).

3. Update Plex Media Server
Go to Synology Package Center. It should offer to update Plex Media Server.
If it does not, you can download the update from plex.tv/downloads and manually install with Package Center.
Be sure to download the correct file for the NAS’ version of DSM & CPU.
If you pick the wrong file nothing bad will happen. It just will not install.

Regarding the new Android TV app, v2026.19.1:

On the left side of the screen you should see a vertical bar with four icons.

Move to the left to try and select on of the icons. The navigation menus should appear, with your username at the top, along with search, home, etc.

At the bottom you should see “More”.

Select More and you should see a list of your libraries. You can then select favorites, re-order, etc.

thank you for your answer.

My nas is a ds216play in dsm 6.2.4.

I haven’t updated plex for a while because everytime I tried I had an error saying my server wasn’t powerful enough when trying to read a media ….

And I haven’t updated in dsm7.0 because I’m not sure my nas will be powerful enough to run it smoothly with plex … but if you’re telling me I’ve no other choice I may consider it …

Yes when I click on more I can see my libraries and organise it. But there’s nowhere else where I can navigate on them in the application… I don’t understand

There is no need to update to DSM 7.x.

You should update to the current version of Plex Media Server.

The NAS has an ARMv7 CPU, so it is not powerful enough to transcode video, whether running PMS 1.18.5 or 1.43.4.

The instructions for using a public NTP and DNS server are written for DSM 7. The settings for DSM 6 should look similar (my NAS runs DSM 7). Doing so is not required, but keeping the NAS time correct and using a fast DNS server will help Plex perform better.

If an error message is displayed when trying to update Plex Media Server, take a screenshot and post to the thread.

EDIT: Be patient when updating Plex Media Server. There have been many changes since v1.18.5. It may take several minutes for Plex to process all the database updates. If you stop Plex before the migration finishes, it just starts up again when you restart Plex.

If you point a browser at the server, you may see a “Maintenance 503” message. Don’t panic. That is normal. Give it 5 - 10 minutes then try again (refresh the window). If it does not finish in 30 minutes, then write back.

When you see the list of libraries, favorite (“heart”) the ones you want to pin to the home screen.

Then, when you pull up the left side menus, you should see them listed below Home.

Like in the second screenshot of my earlier post. You can see “Movies” right below Home. My TV show and other libraries are also listed. I just cropped them out of the picture.

Here’s what I have in the left menu :

If I go un more here’s what I have :

Ok I’ll try to update but I’m really scared ^^

I’m using Plex only in local network so I don’t think I need any DNS setup right ?

Is there any place where I could download my plex media server version to do a rollback if needed ?

Thanks again for your time and answers !

Hey !

I’ve updated with Synology package center but this wasn’t the last version so I then did it manually.

Then I’ve had the 503 error for a few minutes and then ok.

I’ve tried again on my tv and seems to work fine now thank you ! No error on TV but on the website I’ve the error telling me my server isn’t powerful enough.

But it works on the windows app so I guess it’s fine !

Thanks again !
