Hi,
am not sure how to correctly phrase the issue but it is bugging me now for a very long time. I do not know if I am using it wrong or if it is indeed a bug.
I have a local folder on my NAS containing various sub folders of videos. (Collected learning / training videos, not Movies or TV shows) hence I did choose the “Other Videos” categorization of the Library during my initial setup.
Let’s assume we have the following structure:
/
/FolderA -> FolderA.1 -> FolderA.2 -> VideoA.mp4
/FolderB -> FolderB.1 -> FolderB.2 -> VideoB.mp4
/FolderC -> FolderC.1 -> FolderC.2 -> VideoC.mp4
If I go to the root folder via Plex Web and I do have “Folders” view activated, I see the various folders on my disk. All fine.
If I want to watch now VideoA and then decide that I want to watch VideoB afterwards, I will need to click the breadcrumbs back to the root folder overview to then go into FolderB. (Is that correct or is there another direct way to the root overview?).
If I’m in the FolderB path and watch VideoB and then decide I want to go back to the root folder overview (or may be watch a VideoC), but choose instead to click the “Library” option in the menu OR the NAS/Folder name next to the hamburger menu dots OR the pinned root folder on the left side menu - I always land back in the folder of VideoA (always).
Should I not get back to the root folder overview instead? Why am I landing back in the folder path of which I was once viewing a Video in - ages ago but not even the last path I was watching a video in.
I am confused. Hope somebody could clear this up. Thanks in advance!
