Library scan causes internet to go out

I don’t think it is anything wrong with Plex specifically, but every time I run a Library scan, my internet cuts out. A quick Modem power off/on fixes it every time. Any ideas as to what causes this? I have a decent size library… about 280 movies and several shows. I’m really not that savy with how internet works and all of that. Could it be a setting with my router?

Not sure if this could be a cause, but my media files are all on Google Drive. So I am using a mounted drive as the media source. No issues while playing movies. Only when scanning the library. Also the server seemed to be handling it fine. It’s just that the internet cuts out. When I restart the modem and the internet comes back on, it resumes the scan without any issues.

yeah experiencing same issue here. on a windows 10 desktop installed plex but whenever i start the plex media server the windows 10 loses connection to the internet. rebooting the router works for a while but then the same issue. i can access the plex media server locally from another computer however that computer that has plex media server just loses connection to the internet. it is a router issue, i pretty sure, however i am wondering if anybody got a solution
