I’ve been using Plex since 2013 and have never had this issue before. When I search my Library always returns with no results. I’ve read some other topics and tried the things I’ve seen suggested to no avail.
-Under Advanced > Visibility I have include in home screen and global search.
-I have checked the Database and it comes back as ok. Repaired anyway and still no change.
As you can see from the picture the movie is right there on my dashboard under continue watching but it can’t find it. Any ideas?
Nonetheless – if you see no search results there is something wrong with your Plex database. Most likely the relevant search index hasn’t been built.
What is your server version number?
Did you downgrade your server version at some point?

I didn’t downgrade anytime recently but I did upgrade. I am on version 1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59.
I already did the database repair. Status came back ok but I did the repair anyway. Results are the same.
Are the search results missing in all types of Plex apps?
Could you try a few different ones (like https://app.plex.tv and maybe one of the “mobile” ones)? Both local and remote, if possible.
Yes, they are missing in all. Everything displays and plays properly, I just can’t find anything while searching in mobile, app.plex.tv, or anywhere. I appreciate your help.
Started over? Did you ever find the reason behind this? I am in the exact same boat using unraid. Plex has been running flawlessly for a similar length of time l until the other day.
I have the same issue. No results or unrelated results to a search. I search a movie that I know I have and it can’t find it. I also have noticed since the last update that I can’t delete files either.
Unfortunately I didn’t. I just rebuilt. It was obviously some sort of corruption done to the database. I guess the cause doesn’t matter as much as knowing that it’s possible and I need to be more proactive about making/cataloguing backups. Best of luck fellas.
