Library shows multiple copies of albums and songs

Server Version#: Mac Sonoma 14.1.2
Player Version#: Plex Version 1.32.8.7639

All MP3 files are stored on local Sinology DS418 NAS drive. Plex Media Server software stored on Mac-Mini Desktop. Only one copy of the album is stored on the NAS drive. However, Plex reports multiple copies (mostly two copies, but some show up to five copies. Obviously, this affects playback by playing the same song multiple times. Rescanning the library proved ineffective. I have reached the limits of my knowledge. If you can offer any assistance on getting the library to only show one copy of each, it would be greatly appreciated.

i’ve seen a few reports of this happening and the culprit was something called “snapshots” which i imagine is creating a hidden backup of your files which plex is somehow able to read - could this be affecting your files?

I’m not familiar with “snapshots”. So, yes it’s possible that is the culprit. Any idea on resolving the issue?
Richard

Not sure as never had this issue myself.

All I can think is to go to each copy of the album in Plex and click on “get info” for a track and compare the file paths - this might reveal some more insights
