Background…I have music stored on my Synology NAS but the server itself is on a Mac Mini. Everything has been running fine. I got a new Synology NAS and because I wanted to start fresh I Installed the new NAS, created a music share then copied the music files over to the new NAS. I deleted the Music Library on the server, cleaned the bundles and optimized the database then started fresh again. Now after Plex starts scanning I am getting 6 of everything. I have deleted the Music Library and started over 4 times and it keeps on doing it. Help!
Would you mind elaborating?
I take it your library is only linked to the media files one time (⋮
> Manage Library
> Edit...
→ Add Folder
)?
The library is only linked to one folder, Music, and only one time. What happens is that the same album will show up 4-6 times (all will play the music) but when I try to delete the extras Plex will not allow me to delete them.
I have combed through the settings and unless I am missing something I just don’t get it. I have never had this problem before.
Are all those 4-6 albums full duplicates or are your albums split into 4-6 chunks?
4-6 Complete albums. I have dealt with chunks before and had to fix those but 4-6 identical, full albums is new
Can you add the same folder to a 2nd music library and share your server logs if it’s showing the same behavior.
Please enable Debug logging
but disable Verbose logging
in Settings
> [Server Name]
> General
beforehand.
Will do…I appreciate your help
Which logs would you like to see? I added the second music library to the folder and it’s starting to duplicate already.
preferably the full zip file.
Here you go
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-12-18_14-33-08.zip (5.9 MB)
It appears you have configured your NAS to create some snapshots of the media in your music library which is being picked up by Plex.
Okay…I will remove that and give it another try. Thank you so much!!!
