Hello. I’ve set up Plex for the first time, and for now have set up just my music library on a Synology NAS. When I ran my first scan, a significant number of the albums are showing as duplicates in the Plex library. There is only one copy of each file on the NAS, and the problem occurs even with single-disc albums. What is causing this, and how can I fix it?
Hello, thanks for the quick reply. I thought I had tidied up my tags already - and I had - but I realise now that I had kept copies of the original versions in a backup folder which Plex was also seeing. So the problem was caused by Plex indexing the old and new versions of the albums. I’ve moved all the old versions into a new “Not for Plex” folder away from the main Music folder that Plex in indexing, and that has fixed it.
