Library with both movies and TV shows

I can’t be the only one here who has wanted to put all their Christmas stuff in one library, but the match feature won’t work properly this way. Nearly all the “TV” Christmas shows I have ARE found when put in a movie library, but there are two or three that are not (because they are part of a “series” even if they aren’t at all similar – like having the Twilight Zone “Night of the Meek” Christmas show).

I’m going to assume others here will shout “collections” but that’s kind of silly to create a collection for just two or three shows that don’t fit the hundred movies or so I already have in a Christmas library. But the bigger issue is my non-tech types in the house are used to seeing that Christmas library on the left and select it, whereas Collections are cumbersome to seek out and find. Surely there must be some way around this (or is this a feature request? If you could only specify using the TVdb as a search engine in your Movie libraries all would be well. It could be left unchecked for those who want it as it is).

Yeah, without that Pin Collections just won’t work for me (my wife is ALREADY complaining about how complicated Plex is. It’s hard being old :>).

OTOH, it ought to be a simple five minute coding job to allow you to add either TV or Movie searching to either TV or Movie libraries.

Sigh. Okay, so I go to try this “collection” thing to put TV shows in with movies and… there IS no collection tab with TV shows when I go to edit them. ??? I see it with my movies, but without the ability to add the tag to tv shows I’m out of luck.

I ask again – is there no way to add movies and tv shows together in one list? It doesn’t appear that collections is the answer anyway.

Oh, and let me clear up any confusion here – the idea is to add SPECIFIC TV show episodes to a Christmas list. You wouldn’t add every Seinfeld episode to such a list, for example, nor every episode from a certain season (all of which DO have the collections box). What you would want would be ONLY the “Festivus” episode. Which does not have the ability to be marked as part of a collection.

I can’t believe this feature has been missing for so long, as it makes collections kind of useless.

Yes, that is a limitation of collections as they currently function; collections can only be created at the show level. So, they’re probably not a solution to your problem currently, sorry for the added noise in your thread. There’s a feature suggestion to add the ability to add specific episodes to collections, so maybe someday:
