It would be nice to have the ability to set a bandwidth limit per user in additional to a global setting.
I live in NYC and don’t really have room for the big 4U server that houses my media library and Plex server so I keep it at my parents house who have an upstream limited to about 45Mbps. They only have Comcast cable available and without paying a few hundred bucks a month for Comcast’s fiber service that is the highest upload speed you can get. I share my library with about a 18 people and it would be nice if I could limit their upload bandwidth to, say, 8Mbps while leaving mine set to a higher limit (or no limit).
This would be a great example of when H.265 transcoding support would really help. I could limit everyone to half the bitrate for the same quality level but that’s another topic.
