Limit users number of streams still not possible

I love that finally we can set the remote quality server side and not user controlled, but are they ever going to set it so we can limit the number of streams a user can actively have? I have a friend who just won’t stop double streaming and next is just removing him I guess - but would be so nice to say “limit user X to 1 stream only” ----------- will this ever be implemented?

This would be a great feature

This has been a wish list and Feature Request for almost as long as I have been on these boards. You can add your voice and vote to the request by going to this forum post: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/95282/limit-concurrent-streams-per-account/p1 and adding a “Like” to the first post of the thread.

Remember, though. The Plex team adds feature on their own schedule. We get what we get when we get it. And what we get might not be exactly what we asked for. (Still trying to figure out “Discovery” and how it made it’s way into the UI.)

For now, the only real option we have is to run the excellent 3rd party app PlexPy and enable the concurrent stream notifications. Then you can contact the offending user, or just remove his/her access for a time frame. When they complain, tell them why. Info on PlexPy can be found here: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/169591/plexpy-another-plex-monitoring-program/p1 and I know this can run on most systems that Plex Media Server can run on, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get it running.

I actively use PlexPy so I will have to look into the “Enable concurrent stream notifications” option tonight until Plex implements this feature. Thanks Mike
