Lines on TV when playing PLEX through Nvidia Shield

Hi,

I have a weird issue that when I’m m playing a file in Plex on my Nvidia Shield Pro, I get horizontal lines across the screen. They are feint white/grey lines that are really noticeable in darker scenes. On my 85" Samsung TV, they are about 6" apart.

If I play the same file via PLEX via the same TVs smart hub, I do not get the lines.

If I play another app on my Shield (such as Netflix, Amazon etc). I do not get the lines.

This issue seems to be specific to PLEX when played though my Shield.

What could this be? Thank you.

First, check whether the difference between players is if Plex is transcoding the file or not in the shield vs the hub.

Secondly, check the cables between the devices. Your HDMI from the shield might be corrupt (if its even possible), so the best option is to swap cables to see if it’s hardware related.

But now you mention it, I know one thing that is different…when I got this TV, content via the Shield had judder due to the refresh rate. I had to enable the toggle in PLEX. That immediately fixed it, but I wonder if it has caused these lines.

Definitely not cable as other services work without issue, it is just PLEX. But will change to eliminate possibility.
