Linking TV Episodes between different TV Series

Hello all

I have looked at the various Topics about this issue but they seem overly, and unnecessarily, complcated,

What is the recommended way to Link Episodes, i.e. within SuperGirl, the Flash, Legends of Tomorrow which have Crossover Episodes.

It would be useful if, for example, a Tag could be Added to the First Crossover Episode indicating which Episode should be Played Next and then a Tag Added to the Second Crossover Episode, if required and so on..

Thanks in advance

Kevin

IIRC, many simply create a smart episode collection with the shows in question, sorting the episodes by their air date.

I like the idea of using a collection for this because that makes the most sense, but it is a bit awkward to setup. I just tried it on an episode of Mentalist and the Collection field isn’t available:

Looks like only Show level has that field in the edit screen:

BUT if I go to the detail screen or the overflow menu for an episode (or season) I can do “add to collection” there:

This lets me create and add episodes to a collection. I can then remove from collection via the overflow menu as well:

So it’s doable, just not quite in the way the documentation and my usual way (using that Tag section) so wanted to mention it.

For @kncowans situation you can add your DC shows crossovers to a collection and then in the collection you can either manually order them or use the air date ordering and you’d likely get what you’d want from it. There are lot of ‘em! List of crossover episodes | Arrowverse Wiki | Fandom
Personally I’d then set the collection itself to “hide this collection but show it’s items”:

Just so it doesn’t show up in the regular library browsing screen. Then you can add art and details to the collection to make it look pretty. Here’s mine for DC animated shows for example:

(you can see I named my DC animated Movies collection the same name so they display on each other’s collection pages - it’s a neat collections trick).
