How do people handle TV Series that have crossover episodes? For example, In the 1970s there were 2 shows: The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman.
It was not uncommon to have Part one of a story line as episode 1 of The Six Million Dollar Man. Part two of the story was on The Bionic Woman, and Part three was on The Six Million Dollar Man.
If I am watching The Bionic Woman as a series, I want to see part One that was one The Six Million Dollar Man and part three that was on the Six Million Dollar Man.
What is the best way to achieve this without having to remember the Season and Episode numbers of the Six Million Dollar Man to switch to and then back to The Bionic Woman?

I have a setup that I created using Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, The Iron Fist, DareDevil, and the crossover show The Defenders. In my setup I created a smart collection that contains all the episodes
In my case I wanted to play all episodes of all the shows in the order they aired so that I get the complete story. The reason for this is that all these main characters were connected by side characters such as lawyer, nurse, police officer and the like. There was a short miniseries in which they all meet and solve a problem. The condition to only match unplayed episodes is so that I can go to that playlist and hit play in which case it will always play the next episode in the whole story line.
My playlist has conditions that match the names of the shows. Alternatively you can add a custom collection name to the 2 shows and you smart collection will just match that name. If you don’t want all the episodes but just want to go through Bionic woman and include just the crossover episodes from Six Million Dollar Man you can just add the necessary SMDM and either sort by aired date or manually sort them.
Collections will show up for everyone you share with. If you want this for you only, you can create a smart playlist.
Do these crossover episodes show up as “specials” according to TheTVDB? If so, make a copy of the crossovers for each show, and Plex will auto-magically choose them at the appropriate time.
If not, you might be able to use the unused special episode numbers (1, or 8 and higher) to manually make a crossover special. Put in the correct air date for the crossover, and Plex will play them at the right time.
