I’d like to request two features. I use Synology NAS as my server and manage my library via Windows Plex web, but these feature requests could apply to all platforms.
It would be useful to be able to create a direct link within an item description which would link to another item within the library. For instance, I have many “remake” movies along with the originals. It would be handy to be able to insert a link in the description which would allow the user to jump from the remake to the original. Currently I just add text to the movie’s description saying "This is a remake of original movie “Movie Title” from “Year” featuring “Lead Actors.”
Another example might be to add one or more links to artists in the music library from a concert movie. Behavior would be (as you might expect) that when clicking the link in the description, the user would be taken to the linked item.
It would be useful to have the option to be able to search the contents of the description field for library items, as a means of finding common entries, misspelled words, or adding/editing/deleting a bit of text to multiple entries, such as in (1) above. Behavior would be that search results screen would display all matching items as happens currently. Mod-Edit: duplicate, see below (also removed from thread title to avoid confusion
^^That is actually a large collection (225 Movies), but using Alpha Sorting (Advanced) and the Sort Title (shown) movie sets can be placed side-by-side in the Collection as well.
Even Collections have a Sort Title - so when you get 136 of them, they can be arranged on the page in a manner you see fit:
I sometimes use it to position large Movie collections in Library view in order. Fast and Furious for example, which has some different name progressions.
Good ideas but they don’t address my request… I use collections to group movies according to whatever suits me and I understand the sort order suggestion, but I’d still like to see the ability to link to “media b” from the display screen for “media a” for whatever reason, without resorting to large-scale reorganizations of my media sort orders or complex searches.
On the positive side I think you’ve shown me how to better sort and organize my collections!
