There also be some features who implemented and are not completed.
tried to watch some episodes of a series with watchtogether. Skip Intro doen’t work. Fast forward doesn’t work.
Go to the next eposode doesn’t work.
It’s a mess.

I really love Plex. I use it for so many Years now and manage a really big library. But the Plex management have to do a important desission: Feature Creeping and try to be more Netflix or focus at the core features and the streght of Plex: Manage the own media library.

Amen, i love things they add like Live tv, but they dont fix stuff when they add stuff. They add stuff only when they have too… @elan @DaveBinM

Unfortunately I don’t think the core features really make Plex any money (except for Plex Passes, but most people who bought those have probably purchased lifetime now so no more revenue stream from those).
Yeah, but doesn’t make sense, doesn’t make them money, if they can’t improve experience or fix their own product. It shouldn’t take one giant tech youtuber and bunch of people on forums, for them to consider making a change and improving it. If they want money and happy fan base, they should fix stuff they add and promise. heck ac-4 audio on atsc 3 station don’t work… Yes, if I want to watch a station in atsc I get no audio. Also, this issue been going on for 2 years, and they say its legal issues…

your’e right. They have to make money. But making Money while the Bugs and incomplete features eating them slowly up is not as smart as you think.
there will be a point, other software will get good enough to make the users to switch.
Then they can’t make any money.
The sad thing is if you read these forums every day. Upwards of 10 people say they switched to emby or jellyfish. How can they get new customers when they can’t keep current customers happy, Sure they will get money from new customers, but when they run into the same issues as us that we keep saying, it’s going to be same issue. Those new customers will be ranting and saying why is this promised feature buggy.

I’ve started the slow switch over to Emby. There are some things I like better about both, but at least on Emby I feel like I get listened to when I have questions on the forums.

Answering questions in forums is one things.
answering to bugs is an other thing. I hate it, if i report a bug and nobody response. especially if i get some response from other users with the same bug.

I do get replies to bugs as well in the Emby forums…sometimes it might not be the answer I want but at least it’s acknowledged lol.

Downloads are complete garbage. The mobile sync used to work far better for me and the download feature in Infuse is so much better it’s shocking how bad plex is.

Neither Downloads nor old Sync ever worked for me – not once, not with any combination of different servers and clients.
Fortunately thanks to the pandemic now I never need to go anywhere so it doesn’t matter! Whew!
