The same thing happen with Plex HTPC for Linux (version 1.18.0.3023-35a9def0)

I’m suffering from the same issue on plex-desktop.

Linux Mint 20 (snap install)

This must mean that your screensaver doesn’t respect dbus commands to org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver. What does it take to inhibit your screensaver?

Google Chrome can inhibit my screensaver. Also as VLC and many other media players.

The only exceptions are plex-desktop and plex-htpc.

Does Plex send org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Inhibit command along with org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver? I think that may be the reason. I’m using a simple blank screen (turning the monitor off by the power manager) instead of a full-featured screensaver. From my research the *.PowerManager.* is enough because screensavers usually respect it.

The issue is still present v1.52.1

I still have the same issue on plex-desktop 1.53.1, both flatpak and arch builds
the issue is also present in plex-HTPC and the old plex media player for years
