[linux mint 18.2] - Web settings not being saved

Hello,

I’m running latest Plex (1.9.5.4339 ) on linux mint 18.2 (sonya), with kernel 4.8.0-53-generic.

Settings under Settings / Web are not permanently stored.

These are the options I tested and observed that behaviour:

Web / General -> Time Format
Web / General -> Advertise as Player
Web / Quality -> Video quality
Web / Player -> All Settings (incl. advanced)

I tried from the local machine with Firefox and chromium (both latest from mint repo), and from a LAN machine using Firefox and Internet Explorer.

I see the message telling me the changes have been saved, and in the current browser window they look alike. But connecting from another host, and/or different browser shows unchanged values.
They even, after a while (don’t know what may cause that), go away in the same browser session.

If I set i.e. “Play 3 Trailers before movie” (a setting easy to recognize the change), it’ll be like that for a unpredictable amount of time, but after a while, and that’s really odd - I have no clue what could cause that, they are reset to the defaults.

Any hints?
Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks

I too have been experiencing the same thing. Raspbian (Debian Stretch) Settings such as Auto login, Auto quality (Beta), Fallback, Audio Boost, keep changing for no rhyme or reason.

Good to know, I’m not the only one experiencing that problem!

Anything under Settings - Web will be for that browser and that browser alone. Not even in a different browswer on the same computer will the settings be saved / transferred over to. So, as per your description, to me it sounds like as if things are working as they are intended to do by the engineers who developed this.

Hello Peter_W,

thank you. I wasn’t aware, that these aren’t global settings.

Best regards
