The Linux desktop player application does not have any media key support. This has been a long-standing issue, and I’m curious why.

I’ve seen several topics about this.

Someone even made a Qt wrapper for the web interface so that they can get media key support

Why is this still an issue after so many years? It’s a minor inconvenience, the web player has no problem with media keys, but the web player is not good for directly playing content without transcoding.
