I have a problem with an IR receiver and hyperion at the moment… I seems that v4l2 has a conflict with lirc… In older openelec versions there was no problem… Is there a way to fix this… When I disable the v4l2 grabber function, the remote is working fine.
Please let me know if I should do more tests or give you more information.
Is there anybody using a gpio ir sensor in combination with hyperion and an usb frame grabber?
Some more details regarding my setup.
I am using a Pi2, WS2812b leds, adruino nano. So my leds are not connected to the GPIO but with USB. I connected an IR receiver to the GPIO of the Pi. I am using a Harmony 895 to control my devices.
Everything works fine when I don’t use the USB frame grabber. But for my external HDMI devices I need to use the USB grabber. As a solution I am now using a USB remote(Xenta SE340D). This remote will be seen as a keyboard and thats why I can’t learn my Harmony the IR. So now I still have to use 2 remotes.
What will help in this situation? Could I use the USB IR from the Xenta? I don’t think so as it is seen as keyboard (correct me if i’m wrong). Also one remark, sometimes the harmony signal will work on the pi when the grabber is on, but this is really 1 press out of 50.
Too bad no one even responded to this issue. I hope no one will encounter this problem in the future because I can’t help them either. I got a new receiver with Ethernet and switching config scrips now. If your receiver has an Ethernet connection, this is the way to go. There is also a modified script for receivers that don’t have Ethernet but do support CEC.
