I am attempting to clean up my digital library, and have come across some episodes of TV shows that have multiples of the same episodes. (usually different file types or sizes) Currently the only way I find them, is by accident. Scrolling through and seeing the little number flag on top of the poster.
Is there a central location to see all titles with multiple versions?
Is there something I could use in the plex files? such as an index? To search for a keyword?
Is there an a 3rd party tool (preferably free), that would show files with the same name, but not limit it by file size or file type? (all of the 3rd party apps i have tried only show exact duplicates)
update got this down to 33, which are not duplicates, but extras. Thanks for the help! Apparently I also had duplicates of entire seasons or series in the oddest of locations.
I use Media Center Master. Sonarr looks to have some features that would go with MCM, but after looking for at it, doesn’t seem to do all the same things. Just glanced at is, so I could be wrong.
I think my issue, is that Plex will update the libraries while MCM is moving files. MCM then sees that the files are “in use” and thinks they are damaged, and redownloads them. I can’t seem to find a delay on PLEX to update the libraries after 5-10 minutes once a change in the folders is detected instead of instantly. I could attempt to use the daily update, but i like that it updates pretty frequently.
A delay would also help with file renaming, as MCM renames the episodes to my preferred format after the file is moved, and PLEX will pick up the original file name and display that. I currently manually rename them as I come across them on PLEX.
