Live TV and DVR, what channel gets recorded?

Hi,

I am trying to record a college basketball game. It airs on Monday and is picked up on three different channels according to the EPG.

  • NBC Local Affiliate
  • NBC 2nd Channel Local Affiliate
  • Root Sports

Because the game is from a local school Root Sports in my city will not be broadcasting the game as it will be blacked out, but the EPG still will say it is. It will most likely have a NBA game being broadcasted.

How does Plex choose what channel to record? I have it setup to record all of the schools games and I want to make sure it doesn’t record the Root Sports channel and prefer the NBC Local Affiliate over the 2nd Local Affiliate due to broadcast quality.

Best option is to go to the Scheduled recording, Advanced options and change Limit to Channel to the one you prefer.

To answer the questions it will be the lowest numbered channel where the program is marked New.

What is strange is that it does not list all channels to record from. For the 3 broadcast at the same time when selecting DVR Schedule to record all events, the limits of the channel to record from doesn’t even list all 3, just 2 and not the main NBC Local Affiliate that I want to record from. That being said I believe the lowest number channel should work out well, but annoying none the less.
