Live TV Constantly Failing

Server Version#: OS X Mojave 10.14.5, Server 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: Nvidia Shield TV Pro 8.2.0, Client 8.6.0.20351
Tuner Make/Model: HDHR5-4US Connect Quatro 4 Channel Tuner
Guide/Lineup name: N/A
Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: N/A
Underlying network for client and server: A hardwired (end to end) rock solid Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro.

Is there some kind of issues with the Shield TV Pro and the HD Homerun 4? My client is constantly crashing Live TV streams and has done so since I transition from Roku to Nivida as a client.

Troubleshooting I have done:

  • Checked the Homerun, no network errors…everything working fine
  • Cycled the Nvidia Shield (this occasionally resolves the problem temporarily)
  • Cycled the server (this fixes it temporarily the majority of the time so the tuner can be tuned again)
  • Loaded the Homerun app up on a separate client - The HomerRun app loads and still tunes channels despite an ultimate crash state on the Nividia

Basically… the thing is nearly unusable currently. After maybe 10 minutes on a channel… it crashes the Live TV stream. I then change channels which (I interpret) kicks to a second tuner. The second then crashes, and I switch to a third…etc… until I run into a final error which is not on my screen currently but equates to “no tuner available” I believe.

Some times the crash state remains for days… sometimes it resolves itself in an hour.
